  • Especially with the hot temperatures it often happens that the legs swell and hurt. Cold showers and vertical training prevent heavy legs. Targeted foot-leg massages can also provide relief. A few drops of peppermint and rosemary oil activate the blood circulation and provide pleasantly cool legs.
  • Wearing white or turquoise linen or loose silk clothing regulates body temperature. Pearl or silver jewelry also reduces the pitta dosha (fire principle) in the body.
  • When consuming food and drink, avoid hot spices, coffee, and alcohol, which heat the body unnecessarily. Instead, reach for sweet and cooling fruits such as watermelon, cantaloupe, peaches, and bitter salads and vegetables.
  • Swim in cool lakes or rivers in the morning, early or around late afternoon, and avoid the sun during midday. Because at this time there is one thing above all: the danger of sunburn in the midday sun! You should therefore avoid this at all costs.
  • Make sure you drink enough fluids every day – at least 1.5 liters per adult. In hot temperatures, lukewarm cooling herbal teas such as peppermint, sage, lemon balm, lavender, rose petals, or fig leaf tea are best.

Simple principles – And you get through the summer buoyant.

Restful nights  Are also possible in the summer

Learn how you can achieve this here:

  • Rub a few drops of peppermint essential oil on the soles of your feet, and on your solar plexus before going to bed. The solar plexus is also called the solar plexus. For those who do not know where the solar plexus is, it is located at the level between the sternum and the navel at the junction of the thoracic and lumbar spine, in the depth of the upper abdomen at the back wall of the abdominal cavity between the stomach and the aorta.
  • One hour before going to bed, put your silk nightgown and a bottle filled with water in the refrigerator. Put on the silk shirt and lie down in the bed cooled with the water bottle. It’s a welcome refreshment that can make it easier to fall asleep.
  • A cooling bath with a tub temperature of 34–35 degrees and a bath additive of lavender or lemon balm will also promote falling asleep on balmy summer nights.
  • Instead of alcohol, enjoy a lukewarm tea of hops, passiflora, lavender, and rose petals on summer days. Alcohol makes you fall asleep quickly, but it generally disturbs your sleep rhythm. As a result, you will not feel rested the next morning.
  • Avoid sports that have a circulatory stimulating effect after 6:00 pm. Instead, practice yoga, tai chi, or qigong, which relax the mind and calm the nervous system. This creates an all-around successful, peaceful end to the day!
