Stella Simone started at Giardino Lago five years ago. Today, she organizes weddings, events, and gala evenings for Giardino Ascona and Giardino Mountain. A conversation about growth, trust, and the magic behind the perfect moment.
Stella applied to work at Giardino Lago five years ago because the organization’s structure, environment, and philosophy were exactly what she was looking for in her career. Since then, she has grown within the group: from her first job by the lake to her current role as F&B & Event Manager—a position she had dreamed of even as a child.
Career Path: From Giardino Lago to Your Dream Job
Five years of growth within the Giardino Group—for Stella, that wasn’t a coincidence, but a conscious decision to join a company that was a good fit for her.
Start: Giardino Lago The first step into the group, with initial responsibilities and formative experiences.
Growth: Giardino Ascona —a change within the group, more responsibility, larger events, new challenges.
Today: F&B & Event Manager at Ascona in the summer and Giardino Mountain in the winter—the role she had dreamed of as a child.
What kept her at Giardino
“There came a moment when I realized that I wanted to build my professional future within the Giardino Group. Over time, I came to realize just how much the work environment, the ‘Welcome Home’ philosophy, the management, and all my colleagues motivated me every day to give my best and grow professionally.”

Events & Seasons: Weddings by the Lake, Polo in the Snow
Giardino Ascona: Summer weddings, birthdays, and gala evenings on Lake Maggiore—every detail planned to ensure a truly unforgettable day.
Giardino Mountain, winter polo on the lake, and unique winter events; complex logistics, maximum teamwork, and an atmosphere you can only find here.
What makes her work special for Stella is precisely this breadth:
“What makes my work special is the variety of event types and the opportunity to offer everything a luxury hotel can provide its guests. In the mountains, there are unique events like polo on the lake, which require a great deal of organization, attention to detail, and strong teamwork.”
Despite all this variety, however, she has a clear preference:
“I love both worlds, but to be honest, I have a soft spot for Giardino Mountain: the mountains, the fresh air, and the snow. Switching from one property to another can be challenging at times, but that’s exactly what makes my job so exciting. It means I never fall into a rut.”
The defining moments: satisfied guests
What matters most to Stella about her job becomes clear at the end of a successful evening:
“Seeing the guests’ joy, their tears of happiness at the end of an event or an evening—that’s a truly priceless feeling for me. Knowing that I’ve helped make such an important moment special gives me the motivation every day to keep growing and contributing.”
Team & Company Culture: “Welcome Home”—for the Team, Too
“What makes the Giardino Group special to me is the ‘Welcome Home’ philosophy. This isn’t just a philosophy we convey to our guests—it’s something we also live by as a team. When you come to work, you almost feel at home—not just because we spend so many days and hours together, but above all because genuine, sometimes almost family-like relationships develop.”
The space that Giardino gives her to grow
“Giardino has given me the opportunity to show myself and others the value I bring to my work. It has given me confidence and the chance to take on an important role, even when I had little experience outside of this field.”
Proud of Our Own Path
In closing, Stella looks back on her time at Giardino so far:
“When I look back and see how I started at Giardino Lago and have grown into the role I hold today, surrounded by a team with whom I share values and goals, it makes me especially proud.”
